Biography
Canaan Sodindo Banana was a Zimbabwean Methodist minister, theologian, and politician who served as the first President of Zimbabwe from 1980 to 1987. A Methodist minister by training, he brought a moral and spiritual dimension to the new nation's leadership. He played an important role in the early years of Zimbabwe's independence, helping to establish the country's institutions and promote national unity.
